Formulas used
Linear unit categories
For length, area, mass, volume, speed, pressure, energy, power, and torque, the calculator converts through a base unit. It uses the same structure for both directions.
Base conversion: base = value × factor(from)
Target conversion: result = base ÷ factor(to)
Temperature
Temperature uses an offset and scale, so it cannot use a single multiplier.
°F from °C: °F = (°C × 9/5) + 32
°C from °F: °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9
